SPEED RACER

Ok, so here's this new blog that a certain sadistic critter that I know
has created and invited me to take part in called "Real Vs. Ideal". Obviously.
So let's see how this works...

SPEED RACER: THE MOVIE!!!

Ideal:
Speed Racer will ideally be a very good movie.
Obviously for some, it's a 'real life' adaption of the childrens' cartoon of the same namethat originated in Japan in the 1960's.
Anyway, I believe that Speed Racer (also the name of the main character) will produce more heart-pounding adrenaline than the Mach 5 (watch Speed Racer) topping out at 60mph, before swerving around an oil slick and jumping over a pair of novelty sized flail maces.
From what I've seen on the Cartoon Network preview, looks like the time that Chuck Norris went on holiday is the neon city of Las Vegas. If Chuck Norris was a car.

Real:
Speed Racer was... pretty nuts.
I mean, not only did the Wachowski bros. NOT stuff it up (Matrix 2 & 3, anyone?), but they managed to create and nail some cool new 'car-fu' (car-fu being the unique fighting that was created for the film, where characters fight with their cars in a stylised fashion), not to mention that they bagged some VERY cool (and HOT) actors [CHRISTINA RICCI].
Other points of interest included John Goodman, Susan Sarandon, Emile Hirsch, The Monkey, the many, many pretty flashing lights and colours... and did I Mention Christina Ricci.

This is my #1 movie of the month and year, so far. Sorry, Jr.
The movie of the year title will probably be lost in July though... Dark Knight.
Still, I'd give this flick a 10/10. But I'm pretty desperate at the moment too... soo, it's probably more of a 9.5/10.
